TabTab - Privacy Policy
Thank you for using the TabTab browser extension. We attach great importance to user privacy and security.
Privacy Statement
To ensure the security of your data, we do not store any of your bookmark data on our servers. Your bookmark data is only stored locally in your browser and in your self-hosted storage (GitHub Gist or WebDAV).
However, we may collect or store the following data:
- Sharing Feature: When you use the sharing feature, the shared bookmarks will be temporarily stored on TabTab servers for a maximum of 30 days. The data will be automatically deleted after expiration.
- Anonymous Analytics: For data analysis purposes, we collect anonymous usage data. This data cannot be used to identify individual users and is only used for statistical purposes.
Browser Permissions
Here we explain how we use the permissions you grant:
Storage Permission (storage)
- Used to store your tab data, including categories, tab groups, tabs, etc., so that you can view and manage them at any time.
- Used to store your extension preferences, theme settings, etc., to record your preferences.
- We will strictly protect your data and will not disclose or use it without your permission.
Tab Permission (tabs & tabGroups)
- Used to obtain and operate the tab information of your current browser to achieve functions such as saving, restoring, and moving tabs.
- We will not access or modify your tab content without your authorization.
Unlimited Storage Permission (unlimitedStorage)
- Used to store a large amount of tab data generated during your use of TabTab to ensure that your data will not be lost due to storage space limitations.
- We will clean up your storage data regularly to ensure that it does not take up too much disk space.
Bookmarks Permission (bookmarks)
- Used to read your browser bookmarks, allowing you to quickly import data into TabTab for easy data migration.
